About Multimedia Resources and Services
We encourage all students, faculty, and staff to reserve media equipment in advance.
Multimedia Resources & Services consists of four areas:
- Media Collections - Includes film in digital, DVD, or VHS formats. Includes music or sound recording in CD or LP formats.
- Media Equipment - Provides AV equipment (digital cameras, MP3 players, light kits, pod casting kits etc.) to the UVM campus community as well as provide technical assistance and instruction on the use of media equipment.
- Multimedia Lab - Is comprised of high-powered iMac and PC computers loaded with GIS software, the Adobe Creative Cloud, statistical applications, data visualization applications, 3D modeling applications, and more. Hardware offerings also include format importing hardware, two 3D printers, a 3D model wash station, and a 3D scanner. Support staff is available to lead specialized workshops, assist with project creation, and to help troubleshoot technical issues.
- Sound and Vision Studio - Hosts podcasting, photography, video recording, audio recording, and virtual reality activities. Specilized pod casting kits, green screens, professional level cameras, microphones, a mixing board, computer, and HTC Vive VR kit are available for use in the studio. Please contact the Multimeida Services staff for a consultation. Staff will work with you to detarmine the best equipment for your project and set the studio up for you.

Media Circulation Information
Circulation Designations
Circulation designations are determined by contracts signed at the time a media item is purchased. The library must adhere to those signed agreements; exceptions cannot be made for a particular item or case without renegotiating the signed contract.

Multimedia Equipment
The Multimedia Equipment collection exists to provide students, faculty, and staff equipment for research and the creation of multimedia projects. Equipment typically circulates for 3 days at a time but exceptions can occasionally be made to accommodate special research needs. Equipment can be reserved in advance through the Multimedia Services desk by calling 656-1947 or email media@uvm.edu. Staff will provide instruction on the use of equipment upon pick-up or by appointment.
Please return equipment on time as demand is often high during the academic year. Late fees are $5 per day, per item. Users will be billed for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment. Please see our Media Equipment Loan Policy for more details.
