To celebrate Vermont Archives Month 2021, Special Collections invites you to help us finish transcribing the diaries of Mary Jean Simpson during our second annual Transcribe-A-Thon from October 25-29, 2021.
Check out a sampling of new titles on everything from "cosmic zoom" to "vicious children." Stop by the Howe Library lobby to browse new books in person.
Our digital series, "Gathering Leaves: Conversations about Book Arts," continues with a presentation by UVM English professor Liz Fenton on April 29. Professor Fenton will discuss how an interest in the history of printing first emerged out of and then revitalized her work as a literary critic.
Take a look at new and featured books in the Howe Library collection on the historical origins of racism and white supremacy, the role of somatic practice in dismantling racism, and racial injustice in music, popular culture, and housing.
A new exhibit space in the Davis Center provides a venue in which the work and struggles of Black, Indigenous and People of Color at UVM can be acknowledged and celebrated. The inaugural exhibit is centered on the experiences of Black members of the UVM community. Visit the Fireplace Lounge to see the exhibit or view it online.
