The Latest at the Libraries, August 2024

The UVM Libraries have a wide range of services, resources and spaces across our three locations that set students, faculty and staff up for success.  Keep an eye out for the following at Howe, Silver, and Dana libraries. Your libraries are here to help!

Services and Resources

Get Help from UVM Librarians

Academic and Research Support

Each academic department has its own subject specialist librarian. Librarians are your partners in coursework (not to mention they save time and reduce stress), and they’re here for support when it’s time to pick that research topic or find appropriate sources.

Instruction Support

UVM Libraries’ subject librarians offer faculty curriculum support. They provide instruction for individual courses to support specific research needs.

Week of Welcome: Cake at the Libraries

We are so happy to have you on campus and in our libraries, whether it's for the first time or once again. Join us to celebrate your arrival during Week of Welcome with cake outside Howe Library on Friday, August 30 at 12:30pm. We can't wait to see you.

Graduate Student Presenters Needed

The Libraries are seeking postdoctoral and graduate students looking to present their research for the pilot session of the graduate student sandbox series. The series is for graduate students and postdocs across colleges and campus to come together in a low-stakes setting to learn about one another's research, provide feedback, practice with research presentations, and connect. This venue allows participants to practice, enhance and experiment with their research communication skills and incorporate peer review. This series also supports the growing emphasis on graduate and postdoctoral student support, interdisciplinary studies and scholarly communication. Presenters from any discipline, from history to microbiology and molecular genetics, are encouraged to present.

The pilot session will be on October 16 at 12 p.m. in a TBD location. If you are interested in presenting, please email amalia.dolan@uvm.edu and emma.parks@uvm.edu
