Newly Acquired! Wiley Digital Archives: Environmental Science and History

Date:
Monday, May 22, 2023

The UVM Libraries has recently purchased the Wiley Digital Archives: Environmental Science and History database. This primary source archive contains a variety of materials such as documents, records, images, data sets, range and distribution maps, photographs, and slides (including insect, fungus, and botanical specimen slides) spanning from the 1790s-2000s. This content has been drawn from a variety of global sources, including the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International (CABI), The National Archives, Royal Botanic Gardens (Kew), the Commonwealth Forestry Archive at Bangor University, and the Ecological Society of America and the Royal Entomological Society.  Additional content is being added monthly and upon completion, this archive is expected to total one million pages. We are excited to bring this resource to UVM and expect it will be especially helpful for researchers and students in the areas of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries (Food Production); Ecology, Botany, Forests, Biodiversity, and Extinction; Water Sources, Irrigation, Wetlands, and Hydrology.

For more information on this resource, feel free to reach out to ask a librarian!
