Marie Lelay is a French TV presenter coping with the intense emotions brought on by a near death experience in the 2004 tsunami in Thailand. She's written a book on the subject, which was greeted with derision by her colleagues. Marcus and Jason live in a London council estate, covering for their mother, who's a hopeless junkie. When Jason meets a sudden and tragic end, Marcus is set hopelessly adrift, and begins obsessively researching psychics and seers who can help him contact Jason on the other side.

Last king of Scotland

Chronicles Idi Amin's rise and fall. Amin's despotic reign of terror is viewed through the eyes of Nicholas Garrigan, a Scottish doctor who arrives in Uganda in the early 1970s to serve as Amin's personal physician. His perspective as an outsider causes him to be initially impressed by Amin's calculated rise to power and he grows increasingly monstrous. A pointed examination of how independent Uganda (a British colony until 1962) became a breeding ground for Amin's genocidal tyranny. Amin is both seductive and horribly destructive. Garrigan grows increasingly prone to exploitation.

Queen

The Queen begins with a familiar epigraph "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown"--Henry IV, Part II. The action of the film takes place during the week following the death, on August 31, 1997 of Diana, Princess of Wales. One of its accomplishments, courtesy of adroit use of newsreel and other contemporary footage, is to remind viewers of the deep sadness that surrounded that event. It is also about the divergent and potentially ruinous ways the monarch and Prime Minister Tony Blair responded to the resulting torrent of national grief.
