This film follows the degradation of Captain Alfred Dreyfus, a victim of the widespread anti-semitism in the French army (and in France) in which he served. Much of the film is seen through the viewpoint of Colonel Picquart, who was instrumental in the eventual vindication of Dreyfus.

In this moody Police drama set in Paris, Virginie, Erik, and Aristide work as police officers in a local brigade, trying to hold their personal and emotional lives together while dealing with daily occurrences of violence in homes and on the streets. One night, they are assigned an unusual mission and must drive a migrant back to the border for unspecified reasons. On their way to the airport, Virginie discovers the prisoner will be sentenced to death if he goes back to his country. Faced with an unbearable dilemma, she starts to question their mission. They have the night to decide one man's fate.

A seemingly random group of people find themselves in a state of confusion as they attempt to return home. What they don't know is that they have been dead for several years, and no one is expecting them back. Buried secrets emerge as they grapple with reality, struggling to reintegrate with their friends and families. But they aren't the only ones back from the dead.
