30 days of night

More importantly, the population dwindles from over 500 to 150 souls willing to brave the cold and the seemingly endless night. Charged with protecting the town during its nocturnal period, Sheriff Eben is a man trying to reconnect with his estranged wife Stella, who misses the last plane out before nightfall.
