Drama centering on a family of Hungarian immigrants who fled Hungary during the 1956 uprising and are now living in San Francisco, set against the backdrop of the turbulent sixties' watershed year. Zoltan Szabo (Tesci) is the family patriarch, living a mixture of the American dream and old-world memories who cannot understand why his son Peter (Larson) is involved in campus anti-war protests against their adopted homeland. Meanwhile, Peter's younger brother (Locke) receives a draft notice and decides he is gay. Neil Young appears as a reactionary long-hair who runs a motorcyle shop.
