K-19 the widowmaker /

Captain Vostrikov, a Russian naval officer has being given command of the Soviet Union's first nuclear submarine, K-19, at the height of the Cold War in 1961. The vessel's executive officer Captain Polenin asserts that the flagship is not yet ready for deployment. But, political pressure forces Vostrikov to sail his crew into the North Atlantic anyway, for a missile fire test that serves as a warning to the U.S. The test is a success, but a leak in the K-19's cooling system soon threatens the nuclear payload.

Sixteen-year-old Irish immigrant Ned Kelly is sentenced to three years in prison for stealing horse. After his release, he finds work tending to horses owned by Richard Cook, whose wife becomes interested in Ned. Fitzpatrick, is a police officer interested in Ned's sister Kate. Over 2,000 passengers and crew are celebrating New Year's Eve aboard the luxury cruise ship 'Poseidon' on the open sea. Without warning, at midnight, a rogue wave hundreds of feet high, slams into the ship and rolls it upside down. Most of the passengers and crew are killed outright, but several hundred remain alive in the ballroom, where the party was being held. Realizing their only hope of rescue lies at the surface of the water, a handful of survivors, led by Dylan and Robert start to make their way past falling debris, flash fires, and the ever-present threat of flooding.
