Library computers for use by UVM affiliates have both software licensed to the University of Vermont, or open-source software requested by faculty for use by their students.

- ArcGIS ArcReader - Desktop mapping application for viewing maps created with ArcMap and published with the .pmf extension

- Cambridge Structural Database - Repository for small-molecule organic and metal-organic crystal structures overseen by the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC)
