Research Open House and Raffle at the Libraries

Date:
Tuesday, March 12, 2024

Monday, April 15

1 – 3 p.m. Howe Library

Come tour the library and put your name in for one of our fabulous raffle prizes! To kick off Research Week, UVM Libraries will host a special research open house to showcase libraries’ services and resources that support research. Explore the library, enjoy some refreshments, and get to know your libraries.

How do you win a prize?? There will be locations and staff throughout the library - grab a station flyer as you come in and get it marked at the various stations. Turn in your marked flyer for a chance to win!!

Our open house stations will include:

  • VR demos – Did you know that we have a virtual reality studio? See it in action.

  • Sound and Vision Studio tours – Get info on how to make podcasts, video and audio recordings, photography and equipment usage.

  • 3D printing demos – Time to test out the 3D printer in the library.

  • Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and Data Visualization Services - Our experts will be on hand to answer your questions.

  • Scholarly Communications – Did you know that UVM has an online archive for your publications? Talk to a librarian about how to find and use it.

  • Subject librarian and reference services – Find out who your librarian is!

  • Systematic/Scoping Reviews - Learn more about what these are and how they might relate to your research.

  • The Leahy papers – Our archivists will talk about their fascinating work with the Patrick Leahy archives.

  • Statistics and Research Data Consulting – Talk to our experts about how the libraries’ Statistical Analysis can help with your research.

  • The Writing Centers - Visit to find out how they support both undergraduate and graduate students with their research and writing projects.

  • The Center for Teaching and Learning and Writing in the Disciplines - Come find out how our services, events, and workshops can support your research.

  • Interlibrary Loan – Learn the ins and outs of how to borrow materials from other libraries (we make it super easy!). Sign up for an Illiad account.
