Getting started:
You may access your saved files through your UVM NetID account if you have a UVM account
- From the start menu select the Connect to my UVM files option.
- Supply your user name and password when asked.
- Use the Firefox File open to browse your file system.
The workstation will open files for which it recognizes file extensions.
- To protect your privacy be sure to end your session.
OR you may access files stored on a flash drive, by connecting to the USB port next to your monitor.

Create & Edit
Open Microsoft compatible files:
- Word processing
- From the start menu select OpenOffice Writer
- Spreadsheets
- From the start menu select OpenOffice Calc
- Presentations
- From the start menu select OpenOffice Impress
- HTML
- From the start menu select OpenOffice Web
- Drawing
- From the start menu select OpenOffice Draw
Save & Print
Save your work!
Files may be saved to either:
- Your UVM NetID account
- Your flash drive
Files saved on this workstations will not be accessible after this session.
Printing
You can send print jobs to any of the publicly available printers in the library. Take note of the user number pinned on the wall panel in front of you.

Internet & Chat
Internet
Access the internet with Mozilla Firefox.
You can browse web sites, use web-based applications, and view Flash, Real Media and PDF content.
Instant messaging
Use Meebo Instant Messenger to connect to AIM, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN, and Yahoo.
- From the start menu select Meebo Instant Messenger.
- When asked, enter your screen name.
- Select the service you want to use from a drop down list and then enter your password.
Ending your session:
For maximum privacy protection, users are encouraged to end their session when work is complete.
To end your session, click on the start menu to view program options.
Select the End Session and Clear All Information option,
which completely clears all user information and then displays a new Firefox browser page.
