Aspiring singer Setara caused a national uproar in Afghanistan when, after being voted off the reality-TV singing competition program, she danced across the stage causing her headscarf to fall to her neck and revealing her hair. Subsequently, traditional Afghans claimed her behavior un-Islamic and shocking, putting her life in danger. Months later, director Marking revisits Setara and finds her dealing with the ever-present threats to her safety, being a newlywed, and expecting a baby while continuing to dream of becoming a pop idol.
