Statistical Software Support and Consulting Services provides support to users of statistical software throughout the UVM community, as well as general statistical consulting. Located on the first floor of Bailey-Howe Library in room 115, these services are provided by Alan Howard (M.S. Biostatistics, 1980), who has been assisting users of statistical software at UVM since 1986.

Note: Since campus-wide licenses exist for SPSS, GraphPad Prism, and JMP, these programs can be downloaded from UVM's software archive. For the others listed above, please contact Alan Howard to inquire about their availability.

Statistical therapy is provided in the following areas:

• experimental design
• selection of appropriate statistical methodology
• assistance with power and sample size calculations
• interpretation of results of analyses
• assistance in responding to reviewers' comments
• installation/licensing of above software packages
• programming assistance in these packages
• instruction in the use of these packages
• troubleshooting programming errors
