Services for Users who are Blind or Visually ChallengedRetrieval of BooksStaff working at service desks in all departments of all the libraries will help retrieve materials. Please make your needs known.Assistive Listening SystemsAll classrooms in the Bailey/Howe Library have assistive listening systems, as well as all classrooms on campus that seat more than 60 people. The Media Resources Department in the Bailey/Howe Library also has a few of these personal devices available for loan.Magnifier for Windows 2000Opens a magnified window which follows the user's cursor like a magnifying glass.Location: Available in the Accessibility Tools folder on all public computers in the Bailey/Howe Library and the Cook Chemisty/Physics Library. Narrator for Windows 2000Narrator reads what is displayed on the screen-the contents of the active window, menu options, or text that has been typed.Location: Available in the Accessibility Tools folder on all public computers in the Bailey/Howe Library and the Cook Chemisty/Physics Library. Note: While all of these public computers come equiped with sound cards, there are no speakers attached. Please feel free to bring a set of headphones or borrow a pair from the Circulation Desk. The Reading Edge Kurzweil ReaderEasy to use system, a page of text is placed on a scanner, digitized and then read back.Location: Facilitated Study Room of the Bailey/Howe Library.
