Services for Users with Special Needs - About the Facilities
Library Research Annex
The LRA is located on Carrigan Drive next to UVM Police Services on the east side of East Avenue and it is directly south of Centennial Court Apartments. It is on the CATS commuter shuttle route and has parking on the north side of the building.
- Handicapped Parking and Access:
- There are 2 handicapped parking spaces in front of the entrance to the Library Research Annex.
Handicapped Restrooms:-
- There is a single handicapped restroom straight across from the main entrance to the building, before entering the Reading Room.
TTY Telephones:- There is currently no TTY equipment available at the Library Research Annex
Specialized Programs on Public Computers:-
- Magnifier for Windows 2000
- Narrator for Windows 2000
- Note: While all of the computers come equiped with sound cards, there are no speakers attached. Please feel free to bring a set of headphones.
- On-Screen Keyboard for Windows 2000
Where to go for help:
Please make your needs known.-
- Staff working in the Reading Room will help retrieve materials as this facility has closed stacks.
- Materials may also be requested from the Research Annex via the web request form and delivered to either the Bailey/Howe Library, the Dana Medical Library, or may be picked up at the Library Research Annex at a later time.
