Library Research AnnexThe Library Research Annex (LRA) houses older and lesser-used materials for the University libraries. Books, journals, government documents, and microforms from Bailey/Howe, Dana Medical, and Cook libraries are stored in closed stacks in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment in the basement of the LRA. The Archives is also located in the LRA building. Under the direction of the Special Collections department of the Bailey/Howe Library, the Archives houses the University historical collections, the papers of Vermont politicians and other large manuscript collections, and several rare book collections, including the Rush Hawkins Civil War Collection and that of George Perkins Marsh. Services at the LRAMaterials at the LRA are available for your use. You can request LRA material to be delivered to
Bailey/Howe or Dana through the libraries website:
http://library.uvm.edu/dana/services/index.html. In most cases,
your material will be delivered within 24 hours. Patrons can also request to have articles delivered by
campus mail. DirectionsThe LRA is located on Catamount Drive next to UVM Police Services on the east side of East Avenue and it is directly south of Centennial Court Apartments. It is on the CATS commuter shuttle route and has parking on the north side of the building.
