Locations of Network Access for Laptop ComputersRequirements for Network Access
Wireless NetworkingUVM's wireless network (known as Cat's PAWS) is available in almost all of the Bailey/Howe Library. Requirements for Wireless Networking
VPN Clients for Windows, Mac OS 8 and 9, and Mac OS X can be downloaded from UVM's software distribution page at http://www.uvm.edu/software or borrowed from the Reserves Desk at the Bailey/Howe Library. Programs Available on Public E-mail StationsPublic Email Stations are intended for checking email, such as UVM Webmail, as well as quick internet searches. Because of the high demand to use these computers, users are asked to limit themselves to 15 minutes. Public Email Stations include all of the following programs on a workstation powered by the Debian Linux operating system.
Programs Available on Public Access WorkstationsPublic Access Workstations are intended for searching the UVM Libraries Catalog and quick internet searches. During busy times you may be asked to limit use to 15 minutes.
Programs Available to UVM Affiliated UsersComputers for UVM Affiliated Users include all of the following programs in addition to those available on Public Access Workstations.
A few of the workstations closest to the Reference Desk also have MacDrive. |
