Standards Infobase provides digital access to more than 1,000,000 standards from more than 300 standards agencies, including ASTM, IEEE, NISO and SAE. It allows you to search for standards by document number, keyword, title or ICS code. It is also possible to search for the most recently published standards or standards published in a specific country.
If you are using Standards Infobase for the first time:
The Library recommends that you set up your account and familiarize yourself with the steps for requesting a standard in one of these ways:
- Make an appointment to work with a Reference librarian; or
- Follow the Libraries' guide to using Standards Infobase (estimated time: 12 minutes).
If you are already familiar with Standards Infobase:
Please also note:
Access to any standard document involves a multi-step process. After locating a standard that you need for your research, you will need to place a request for that document. When the Library authorizes a request, Standards Infobase then delivers the document to your UVM email.
PDF standards are normally available within 1-2 business days. Hardcopy standards are normally available within 5-10 business days.
When you place a request, you will see pricing details for each standard. This payment is made by the UVM Libraries, NOT by the person who places the request.
Access to the standards in Standards Infobase is restricted to UVM affiliates.
