Weekly Silent Book Auction
Check out the weekly Silent Book Auction for some extraordinary bargains. The auction is located near the New Books shelves in Bailey/Howe Library. It closes at 3:30 each Friday afternoon. The minimum bid is $1.00, and new titles are offered every week.
The Silent Book Auction has been a University Libraries tradition since the 1980s. Created originally as a means to dispose of the library’s discards and duplicate donated titles, the weekly auction has become a keenly anticipated and well-loved weekly event. After more than two decades the auction continues to attract faculty, staff, students and the general public to battle for that long sought-after book. Travel books, science texts, history, biography and fiction have all been included in the auction. Proceeds benefit Special Collections events and acquisitions.
