Faculty: Work with Librarians to Support Student Research Skills

As you prepare for the coming semester, consider working with library liaisons to your academic department.

Liaisons offer discipline-specific instruction on basic to advanced research skills for your students, and will host classes in the library or come to you. Liaisons also provide individualized consultations with faculty and students, and can help to advocate for the purchase of library materials in your field.

Associate Professor Kelley Helmstutler Di Dio, whose art history classes were recently visited by a liaison wrote, “I wanted to thank you for doing such a great job teaching the students about locating such a variety of sources. Many of them have written me to express how grateful they are for the session and how useful it has been for them already. You made the sessions very interesting and lively and I especially appreciate how you tailored the sessions to each class’s research project.”
