My father, Allan Attwater, who would have been in the class of 1947, (though he left) won the Kake Walk with a partner, most likely in 1944. Yes, he was in blackface, and they won a large trophy, which I believe had a winged Victory (Nike) statue on the top. An article was run in Parade Magazine (?) and our family had a copy of the photo and the article until about 12 years ago. Is there a copy in the archives somewhere? I can’t find it through your website. My dad, still living at age almost 86, is looking for it. Does anyone have this photo and/or article? Thanks!

Not being one myself, I am not sure how the term “Vermonter” is defined. Ruth Allen Colton Fletcher lived most of her life in Vermont (Belvidere, Waterville, Johnson, Eden, et al.), but she was born in Grantham, NH. (Just in case a genealogist needs to know.)
