Issue Date: 16-May-2013
Abstract: Something Good! is a fictional, fact-based picture book about a black bear chasing a scent in the forest. Research indicates children are distancing from direct and indirect experiences with nature. Visual media is one method of experiencing nature. Picture books are a creative, visual format that support literacy. They entertain, educate, and advocate. The purpose of this creative arts project is to expose children to wildlife, boost eco-literacy, and share information about black bear behavior.
