After 10 minutes of inactivity, you will be logged out automatically. After automatic logoff, there is an additional 5 minutes before the machine disconnects from your account. After this time, your files will be gone forever.
It is not a good idea to leave yourself logged into a computer that is unattended and you don't want to lose your files. You can safely save files to:
- Cloud Storage
- External media
- UVM server space
- On the desktop there is a Zoo Files link
- From File Explorer (the yellow folder in the task bar) you can access your server-side Documents folder.
You can use webfiles.uvm.edu (which is online access to both of these folders) from anywhere.
