Importing Citations into Endnote from Specific Databases
Need more specific help
importing citations into EndNote? Scroll down the list to find
instructions for importing or exporting with a particular database.
Some databases do not support Endnote; these are noted below.
ABI Inform (Proquest)
Import Filter: N/A
- Perform a search.
Mark selected citations by
clicking the checkbox next to each citation.
- When finished
marking citations, click Export option above the
list of search results.
- Click the Export directly to ProCite, Endnote, or
Reference Manager link.
- A dialog box appears, selcet EndNote.exe
to open with.
- Endnote will start automatically and you will be prompted
to open your library. Citations are imported into your library

- Perform a search.
Mark selected citations by
clicking the add
button next to citations in the results list or by clicking the Add

Save this notepad document. Be sure to remember where you are
saving it to, the default settings will save it at your desktop.
- Start the EndNote program and open your library.
- Under File scroll down to Import...
and choose the saved file to import.
- In the Import Options box
scroll down to select Other filters
to choose the appropriate filter from a complete listing of all your
filters. If you don't already have the appropriate filter, it can be
downloaded from the Flim Literature Index by clicking the "EndNote
