Diet and NutritionThe mission of the ADA is to serve the public through the promotion of optimal nutrition, health and well-being. In order to promote sound nutrition information for the public, the Association sponsors publications, national events and media and marketing programs. They establish and enforce standards of quality for academic training and professional practice in clinical nutrition, foodservice systems management and community dietetics. ADA also lobbies for federal legislation that will contribute to the nutritional well-being of the public through its Government Affairs Office. http://www.eatright.org/ Food and Nutrition Information Center A collection of links about eating disorders, dietary guidelines around the world, the cultural diversity of food in the U.S., newsletters and discussion groups, dietary supplements (including herbs, vitamins, and minerals), food composition, and various food pyramids. http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/ |
