Document Delivery / Interlibrary Loan Request Form

Dana Article Retrieval Service (DART)

  • Articles requested from our library collection will be located and delivered to you by email, campus mail, fax, or you may ask to be notified to pick up copies in the library.
  • All requests MUST meet copyright regulations and guidelines.
  • Fee is $5.00 for UVM/FAHC affiliates – you must provide a UVM Chartstring or FAHC Cost Center Number on the requests or prepay with cash.
  • Other groups should contact us for information.
  • Requests may be made with Web Form, email (danadd@uvm.edu) , phone (656-4381), fax (656-0762), or use paper forms available at the DD/ILL office, Circulation and Reference Desks.
  • 24 hour turnaround whenever possible.
  • Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Photocopy drop-off Service

  • You may pull journals or books from our collection and indicate pages to be copied. Leave materials at DD/ILL Office. Pick up at Dana mailboxes.
  • Black and white copies $.30 per page
  • Payment at pick up, Chartstring, or Cost Center number required
  • 24 hour turnaround time
  • Photocopy Services are available Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Public Photocopiers

  • Located in the back of the library near the current journals.
  • Black and white copies - $.10 per page/cash; $.07 per page/Cat$cratch or Guest Copy Card (card vending machine is adjacent to copiers)

ILL Fee Change

Effective Fall semester 2008, Dana waives ILL fees for UVM students, faculty and staff and for FAHC employees (including nursing staff). This waiver does not apply to Health Research Affiliates, unaffiliated users, or contract borrowers such as the Porter Medical Center. UVM Emeriti and AHEC users are not eligible for the waiver, but are charged a $5.00 per-item fee.

Fees are waived for "routine" loans of journal articles, books and audiovisual materials. The policy does not include non-clinical rush ILLs or non-standard requests such as publisher PDFs. Copyright fees may still apply and are not waived. In the event of copyright charges, the ILL department will always contact the patron before fees are incurred.

  • ILL provides access to materials that are not available in the Dana Medical Library.
  • ILL services are provided for faculty, staff and students of the University of Vermont and Fletcher Allen Health Care, and for Health Research Affiliates.
  • Average turnaround time for journal requests is two business days. "Rush" service may be available with a shorter turnaround time. Contact ILL for assistance.
  • Depending on your affiliation, the cost ranges from no cost to $25.00 for routine requests. Expedited services cost more. Specific questions about cost may be referred to the ILL office.
  • We can send documents to you by email, through campus mail or U.S. Mail, or by fax. For items which need to be picked up, we can notify you by phone or email.
  • Office hours are Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
