Zinc and the Common Cold
Thursday, February 17th, 2011A new Systematic Review from the Cochrane Library indicates that zinc lozenges or syrup are effective in reducing the severity and duration of the common cold in healthy people, when taken within 24 hours of onset of symptoms. Regular use appears to prevent rhinovirus infections and significantly shorten the duration of colds.
