Uncomfortably Numb

By George Krikorian, Dana Medical Library

There’s more than you think going on behind the scenes at Dana.

Each month, the ongoing erratas project brings in a whole new set of retractions and corrections that need to be made to our print journals shelved in the stacks. Usually nothing remarkable happens, but over the last few months there have been well over 30 retraction notices put out for articles published by Dr. Yoshitaka Fuji. His work on postoperative nausea and vomiting appeared primarily in the journal Anesthesia & Analgesia, and the recent revelation of his fraudulent work is certain to have a strong impact.

In their March 2013 issue Anesthesia & Analgesia published an editorial on the matter that’s worth reading, regardless of your field of study. It’s always interesting to see how the work of one can affect so many.

You can access the editorial here.
