On June 1, Karen Sokol, M.D.’03, University of Vermont clinical assistant professor of family medicine, celebrated the one-year anniversary of her house call-based practice. Seven Days tells her story.

A new study by the Pew Research Center’s Internet and American Life Project examines The Social Life of Health Information. Findings show that health care professionals continue to be the preferred source for health information, more and more adults are turning to online resources for health information. Online sources include social networking sites and peer-to-peer sites for specific health concerns. According to the study, 18% of internet users have gone online to find others with similar health concerns.
