Save and E-mail Web Pages and Electronic Journal Articles
Save Web Pages and Electronic Journal Articles in HTML Format
- In the browser menu, select, File | Save Page As or Save As.
- Navigate to a saving location.
- At File name: keep the default file name or type a new one.
- Under Save as type, select one of the following:
- Web Page, complete: saves the entire web page, with HTML in a file,
and images in a folder. Open the saved file with the browser.
- Web Page, HTML only: saves the HTML of the web page as a file, without
images. Open the saved file with the browser, and copy and paste the text
as desired.
- In Netscape
- Text files: saves the on-screen text. Equivalent of a Notepad document.
Open the saved file with the browser, and copy and paste text as desired.
- All files: same as Web Page, HTML only.
- In Internet Explorer
- Web archives (.mht): saves entire web page as a single file. Open the
saved file with the browser.
- Text file (*.txt): saves as a Notepad document. Copy and paste the
text as desired.
- Click Save.
Save Electronic Journal Articles in PDF Format
- Open the electronic journal article on the screen (click the "Full Text" or "PDF" link).
- Click on the Save icon associated with the Adobe Acrobat reader (not the Save selection under File in the Netscape or Internet Explorer menu).
- Navigate to a saving location.
- Type a name for the file.
- Click Save.
E-mail Web Pages and Electronic Journal Articles
- Follow the instructions to save the web page or electronic journal article.
- Open your web-based e-mail account (Web Mail, Yahoo, Hot Mail).
- Compose a message.
- Attach the saved web page to the message.
- Send the e-mail message.
