The use of many library resources from off-campus is restricted to University of Vermont students, faculty, and staff and FAHC employees.
Remote access methods vary depending on your affiliation:
UVM faculty, students and staff can choose between EZProxy access or VPN access. Both methods require the activation of your UVM Network ID (UVM NetID). For more help see Find Your NetID and Password. Phone 656-4415 or e-mail Donna O'Malley with questions.
This option does not require the installation of software. Logon using your UVM NetID and password. After logging on you will be redirected to the Dana Library home page. Follow links through this page to access resources restricted to UVM and FAHC users. See EZProxy in action.
This option requires installing software on your computer. In addition to allowing access to library resources from off campus, VPN will also allow access to University of Vermont campus servers. Check with your department for details. Cisco AnyConnect VPN client installation and use is initiated through your web browser. Go to sslvpn.uvm.edu and sign in with your UVM NetID and password.

FAHC Employees should check with the FAHC IS help desk at 847-1414 to access the Internet through FAHC. Access to the Internet through the FAHC gateway will include access to Dana Library resources.
Mobile and off-campus access to UpToDate requires periodic access from on campus. See the About UpToDate guide for more information.
If you're having trouble getting to a database or electronic journal from off campus, and you have set up one of these remote access methods, report the problem to our troubleshooting team.
They may ask you to verify your IP Address using whatismyip.com, or a similar utility.
