Public Computers and Related Equipment
Instructions and assistance are provided on request for all equipment.
Computers
- 44 Windows XP, CD RW and USB flash drive ports. Sorry, no Macs.
- Login using the Guest user name and password provided, or your COMIS account. Save your work to the following:
- Your Zoo server space.
- Your COMIS server space.
- CD, or USB flash memory drive.
- Mini Tab and SPSS on all computers.
Headphones
- Use headphones to listen to audio portion of WEBCT and COMET assignments.
- Check them out for use in Dana at the Circulation desk.
Laptops- Accommodations for Personal Equipment
- Network jacks
- Requires a network card.
- An Ethernet cable may be checked out at the Circulation desk for use in Dana.
- Wireless Internet access- for UVM affiliates only
- Requires a wireless network card.
- Requires Cisco VPN Client installation.
- Provides access to Cat's PAWS UVM Network or COMIS Network (call 67300 for more info on COMIS wireless access).
Printers and Photocopiers
- Fee-based printing is available.
- Use CAT$cratch, or your Copy card to pay for your printing and photocopies in the library. The cost is 7¢ per side. The printer default is two-sided, but can be changed.
- Color copies are 25¢ each but aren't available in two-sided.
- Guest card obtained from the Circulation desk: 10¢ per side for black and white, 25¢ for color.

Scanners
- Scanner with Kurzweil scanning and reading software.
- Scan graphics, text, and images.
