Manuscript Finding Aids

Finding Aids

We are nearing completion of a project to upgrade the delivery of our finding aids. Almost all of the finding aids from UVM Special Collections are now available:

New Finding Aids Database.

The manuscript holdings of Special Collections total more than 8,000 linear feet, which include bound volumes, individual folders and boxed collections. Manuscript holdings documenting Vermont are especially strong in the following areas: politics, literature, religion, Vermont historians, photography, publishing and printing history, clubs and organizations, theatre and music, and business and industry.

Finding aids are created to describe our boxed collections, describing the content of the collection as well as the context in which the collection was created. Electronic access is available to selected finding aids from the University of Vermont Libraries Special Collections and from the St. Johnsbury Archives Collaborative.

The St. Johnsbury Archives Collaborative is a partnership among the Fairbanks Museum, the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum, the Town of St. Johnsbury, St. Johnsbury Academy, and the St. Johnsbury Historical Society.
