Battleship Potemkin = Bronenosets Potemkin (1925)

Potemkin re-creats the 1905 mutiny on the battleship "Prince Potemkin." It focuses a mutiny by the battleship's crew and the subsequent massacre of civilians - that reflects the spirit of the times. Silent film with Russian intertitles and English subtitles and music score (74 min.).

Ivan the Terrible (Part 1) (1944)

Opens with the coronation of Ivan, Grand Duke of Moscow, as the absolute ruler of all the Russians. Begins with Ivan's return to Moscow, to find that his dream of reuniting all of Russia is all but impossible.
